Rambagh
Palace - A legendry hotel in Jaipur was built in 1835 on a very small
scale for the queen’s favorite handmaiden Kesar Badaran and later
converted as a royal guesthouse and hunting lodge, the mansion was
renamed Rambagh, after the then ruling Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II.
Rambagh
palace remained the home of Jaipur’s Royal family until 1957, there
after it was first converted into an up market hotel that the
family continued to manage. In 1972, the hotel was handed over
to Taj hotels to manage and market the hotel. Over the years, Rambagh
Place has played gracious host to several important guests, such as
Lord Mountbatten, Prince Charles, Jacqueline Kennedy and many other
dignitaries.
Taj
Rambagh Palace offers 79 rooms and suites. The suites were the
chambers of the former Maharaja. The most important suite in the
hotel, Peacock suite overlooks the Mughal Terrace and the garden
where the Maharaja used to celebrate "Holi" the festival of
color.
